Let's travel back to 2016—almost a decade ago. Jeroen, a designer from the Netherlands, meets Marcela, a designer from Costa Rica living in Barcelona. They fall deeply in love and, a year later, decide to start a life together in the mountains, driven by their impulsive natures and a shared passion for the outdoors.

Since moving to the mountains, nature has become an integral part of our daily lives. We've embraced seasonal living and are increasingly aware of the impacts of climate change and mass tourism. Nature continues to provide endless inspiration for our design work. However, it wasn't until we discovered Life-Centered Design in 2020 that we figured out how to make nature the centrepiece of our creative adventures.

When we discovered Life-Centered Design, there was no practical approach that we could use, so we decided to start developing it ourselves with the support of our caring international design community.

After conversations with over 100 professionals, designers and creatives who asked where to learn about Life-Centered Design, we launched the Life-Centered Design School in 2022!

Today, we are surrounded by a wonderful team of volunteers and a community of passionate creatives who want to make an impact!
